Distressed Wooden Island

Here, the goal was to achieve the look of an antique piece of furniture instead of standard kitchen cabinetry and counters. The thickness of the wood counter gives a sense of substance while the distressed, hand rubbed polyurethane finish gives a sense of age.

We created the structure by dismantling the original cabinets and rearranging them in a more functional shape. We added decorative panelling, brackets, and molding to finish it all off.
